Pet Dental Care

Just as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health. Signs of dental disease include bad breath, loose, broken, or missing teeth, yellow or brown teeth, red, inflamed, or bleeding gums, difficulty or pain when chewing, pawing at the mouth, and excessive drooling.

Periodontal Disease

Left untreated, periodontal disease can cause infection, pain, and tooth loss over time. It can also lead to microscopic changes in the heart, liver, and kidneys and can cause serious health problems for your pet.

At Bernardsville Animal Hospital, we are committed to our patients’ oral health and implement the highest quality dental care. We take a comprehensive approach to dental care, including oral health assessment, treatment, and prevention. We have state-of-the-art dental equipment, including digital X-rays, to help diagnose disease below the gum tissue and, therefore, not always visible to the eye.
